Pakistan International Bulk Terminal (PIBT) is a new sea port, located in Port Qasim Authority Area. It is a dedicated port for handling imported coal and export of Bulk Cement and Clinker. The port is not yet connected by rail with PR network. PRFTC, a subsidiary Company of Ministry of Railways, floated RFP for the Feasibility Study of Possible rail link of PIBT with PR network. After being successful in the bidding, the work was awarded to Crimson Engineering. The work has been completed and final report has been approved by the Client. Briefly the work included to evaluate the various alternatives, design the best alignment (approx 10 km), track profile, Design of Signalling, Bridges and Station Yards etc. The work also included Geotech and Environmental Studies. Costing of the project and Financial Analysis was also part of the final report.
