Contract was awarded to Crimson Engineering to prepare a Feasibility Study and develop a bankable document for connecting Thar Coal Block-2 with PR network. Job includes Route Selection, Topographic Survey, Geo-technical Study, Environment Study, Preliminary Design, of all relevant Structures, Costing etc. This also includes developing a bankable document. The work is in progress and likely to be completed by Q3, 2020. Initially it is proposed to construct a single line. Subsequently, depending upon the demand, it would be possible to convert it in to double line. Construction of this line is likely to open a new era of development for Thar area. Standards, specifications and Track parameters will be strictly complying with PR regulations. Loading standards will be at par with ML-1 standards after implementation of CPEC. There will a provision to electrify this line in future if PR electrifies ML-1 at certain stage
