Design Review - ML1 - CPEC

Consortium of M/S CREEG of China, Nespak and PRACS were awarded the work of Preliminary Design of up-gradation of ML-1 of CPEC. The job to Review and Vet the preliminary design was awarded to the Consortium of MMP, Crimson Engineering and Canarail. To review the subjects pertaining to Railway Technology were in the purview of Crimson. The Subjects included General Specifications, Track, Route, Sub-grade, Bridges, Station Yards, Signalling & Telecommunication, Locomotive and Rolling Stock etc. Crimson is also performing the role of Team Leader for the Project. The work on Phase-1 has been completed. The work on bidding documents is in progress. Drawings and Documents of Phase - 2 have been partially received and Review and Vetting Process is in Progress. As a result of Implementation of ML-1 Project, The designed speed of Track for Passenger Trains will be raised to 160 km/h. The axle load will be raised to 25 T. The Line Capacity will tremendously increase and it would be possible to operate more than 150 trains in either direction after Up-gradation of ML-1. All the age old bridges will be replaced and designed axle load for bridges would be 28T.
